Akron Girl Rolls to Soap Box Derby Title - Hometown racer has historic finish on exciting day at 70th All-American Soap Box Derby
This was the 70th year for the Soap Box Derby held in Akron, Ohio. Almost 600 youth participated in the gravity-powered ride down the 954-foot long Derby Downs track. They came from across the country, from Japan, Canada and Germany to an offbeat corner of the Rubber City for the world championship of this offbeat sport. Hired or fired? Olympian Angela Ruggiero traveled to Los Angeles during the summer of 2006 to film the 6th season of Donald Trump’s NBC show, which launched with 18 wannabe apprentices including an internet entrepreneur, a construction firm owner and five attorneys.
Angela, 26, grew up in Los Angeles, California and Harper Woods, Michigan. She graduated cum laude with a degree in government from Harvard University, where she was an NCAA First Team Academic All-American as well as one of the top eight student athletes in the entire NCAA in 2004.

It is not the first drink on the market that promises to boost your metabolism and burn calories. Enviga is, however, the first that promises to do the above with the marketing and distribution muscle of Coca-Cola and Nestle behind it.
The new drink, which comes through Beverage Partners Worldwide (a joint venture between Coca-Cola and Nestle), will be marketed as a “negative-calorie” beverage.
Jason Warner, group marketing director for Beverage Partners Worldwide Americas, told Ad Age, “There’s calorie, low-calorie, zero-calorie, and now we offer consumers negative-calorie products.”
According to Rhona Applebaum, chief scientist for Coca-Cola, consumers who drink three cans a day of Enviga will burn a net average of 60 to 100 calories. (more…)
July 4 2007 - On the fourth of July, Team USA was too much for Team World at Zicatela Beach, Puerto Escondido in the inaugural Women’s Surfing X-Games. Led by O’Neill Team riders Rochelle Ballard and MVP Melanie Bartels, Team USA won one of the tightest games in X-Games history-55 to 52. (more…)

What Has Been Your Biggest Accomplishment?
Just pushing the limits in general. Every time I try something new, or get tothe bottom of the mountain and say “whew, that was crazy” it’s always an accomplishment… whether it be sliding a tree stump or feeling death at my heels.
