Arizona State holds on to the number one spot
March, 13, 2008 -Arizona State (27-1) held the ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 Poll top spot for the second week in a row. The Sundevils have posted a school record smashing 24 wins in a row so far this season. UCLA (25-2) is inching its way up the poll, securing the second spot this week. Alabama’s junior third baseman, Kelley Montalvo, was named the USA Softball National Collegiate Player of the week for the week of March 3rd - 9th. Over the weekend, Montalvo went 7 for 9 at the plate, scored nine runs, and recorded six RBI’s.
