<itunes:summary>Breaking barriers, fighting the good fight; that’s why as little girls we were told we could do anything boys could do, and likely do it better. Well here’s to all the girls (and women) who are busting stereotypes – those who prove every day they’re “Pretty Tough.”

Pretty Tough has been established as a voice for girls who kick butt on and off the field, the track, the slopes and everywhere else girls play sports. We want to draw attention to the strengths girls possess and inspire them to feel beautiful because of their incredible abilities. We make strength and courage attractive and accessible to all women – competitors, spectators, fans or simply those looking to get involved. Whether you’re looking for information or inspiration, you’ll find it at PrettyTough.com.

Pretty Tough is the premier brand and media property providing high-quality, specialty content, products and services for young female athletes nationwide. We do this via our online community and through the creation of books, videos and consumer products. Our brand empowers and motivates young women to embrace their femininity and athleticism while encouraging them to lead active, healthy lifestyles.
Pretty Tough is for girls, parents, coaches, and anyone interested in playing sports or motivating, inspiring, and cheering on female athletes.</itunes:summary>

Brennan was a pioneer as a female sports journalist and is still today the most widely-read female sports columnist.

Brennan wrote Best Seat in the House, released in June 2008, as a personal memoir but also as a tribute to her late father, Jim Brennan, whom she dubs “the first women’s sports advocate I met.”

Below, Ms. Brennan and I talk about her book, what her father meant to her as a young girl in the 1960’s who was a huge sports fan, what today’s fathers mean to their daughters, and the progress made in accepting women in sports and sports journalism.

Don’t forget to pick up a copy of Ms. Brennan’s book for your dad for Father’s Day! At the end of this interview, she tells you how to get not just a copy of the book but a signed copy from the author herself.

Stay tuned for Parts 2 and 3 of the series of interviews with Christine Brennan!

USA Track & Field hosted a Q&A with Lolo Jones on February 26, leadig up to the USATF Indoor Nationals, which take place this weekend (Feb 28-Mar 1) in Boston. Jones has run the top three fastest times in the world indoors this season and therefore is the obvious favorite in the 60m hurdles this weekend.

The first question regarded the new World Anti-Doping Agency’s regulations, which require athletes to specify their exact location for a specified hour-long window every single day three months in advance.

“I don’t care if they have to put a GPS on me 24/7 if that what it takes to keep the sport clean. What I’m concerned with is that the athletes weren’t consulted on this first.”

Lolo emphasized that she is not against the drug-testing system, but she hopes that WADA can understand how hard it is as an athlete to know your whereabouts every day, three months in advance, and that they can get the kinks worked out soon.

Lolo takes questions from the Chicago Tribune, Runner’s World, and more, about recovering from her Olympic experience, where she was leading the field until she hit a hurdle and stumbled, how she is feeling in training now, how she is adjusting to her soaring fame since last year and the difference between racing the indoor 60m hurdles and the outdoor 100m hurdles.

Jones, as always, is upbeat, positive and converses easily with the reporters. She will make you laugh and motivate you at the same time. Listening will be time well spent, we promise!

Listen to the Q&A with Jones here:

<itunes:summary>USA Track & Field hosted a Q&A with Lolo Jones on February 26, leadig up to the USATF Indoor Nationals, which take place this weekend (Feb 28-Mar 1) in Boston. Jones has run the top three fastest times in the world indoors this season and therefore is the obvious favorite in the 60m hurdles this weekend. The first question regarded the new World Anti-Doping Agency’s regulations, which require athletes to specify their exact location for a specified hour-long window every single day three months in advance.“I don’t care if they have to put a GPS on me 24/7 if that what it takes to keep the sport clean. What I’m concerned with is that the athletes weren’t consulted on this first.”Lolo emphasized that she is not against the drug-testing system, but she hopes that WADA can understand how hard it is as an athlete to know your whereabouts every day, three months in advance, and that they can get the kinks worked out soon.Lolo takes questions from the Chicago Tribune, Runner’s World, and more, about recovering from her Olympic experience, where she was leading the field until she hit a hurdle and stumbled, how she is feeling in training now, how she is adjusting to her soaring fame since last year and the difference between racing the indoor 60m hurdles and the outdoor 100m hurdles.Jones, as always, is upbeat, positive and converses easily with the reporters. She will make you laugh and motivate you at the same time. Listening will be time well spent, we promise!Listen to the Q&A with Jones here:More on Lolo Jones: Jones uses stumble at Olympics as motivationLolo's Website: www.runlolorun.com</itunes:summary>

Aspen, CO, Dec. 16, 2007 – With temps hovering in the negative numbers, the ladies at the Breckenridge Grand Prix still managed to pack some heat.

The finals came down to the three American powerhouses of Hannah Teter, Kelly Clark, and local Gretchen Blieler. Teter finished bronze. Kelly Clark fell just short of a repeat victory with plenty of amplitude and tight combos in her run – including an amazing corked frontside five, but it was Bleiler’s first run, which was scored at 45.3,and included a crippler, triple inside alley-oop, triple inside five, back-side five and front 900, that sealed the deal and the number one spot on the podium.

Clark, who won an Olympic gold medal in 2002, was the only returning podium topper from last year’s Breck Grand Prix stop, where Bleiler finished a disappointing seventh. Teter took most of last season off.
