“You’re out” - Finch fired

Jan. 25, 2008 - Another loss for the women last night meant another member of Empresario was going home on The Celebrity Apprentice. It’s painful to watch the women lose each week, making this the fourth week in a row.

After a heartwarming scene, in which, Ultimate Fighter, Tito Ortiz, handed out a charity check for St. Jude’s Hospital for Children, to an adorable little girl fighting brittle bone disease, this week’s task was handed out. The task, with the help of judge and WWE founder and president, Vince McMahon, was the teams had to sell tickets for four Broadway shows.

Both Hydra and Empresario choose project managers who had Broadway experience, actress, Marilu Henner for Empresario and actor, Vinny Pastore for Hydra. Immediately, the teams began strategizing and calling their contacts. However, before they could get down to business, both teams had to negotiate with each other over which Broadway shows they would sell. Project managers and reality star, Omarosa, negotiated with boxer, Lennox Lewis. The women did a nice job and ended up with the shows they wanted, leaving viewers with false hope that this was finally the women’s week.

At Times Square, Empresario got to work, inviting Broadway and television star, David Hyde Pierce to help out with their cause, along with giving away plenty of Broadway swag to attract customers. During sales, Omarosa was overheard saying that softball superstar, Jennie Finch, was a vulnerable, sweet girl that likes getting hidden in a task and lacks leadership skills. As the women scrambled making contacts, the men had reality television producer, Piers Morgan dress up like King Arthur to attract buyers. The men made some major contacts eventually raising over $33,000 beating the women by just about $2,000.

Henner choose model, Carol Alt and Finch to join her in the boardroom as she felt the team could afford to lose either woman. Before entering, Alt made it clear that Omarosa is a cancer to the team and should be the one getting fired.

Immediately upon entering the boardroom, Trump asked Finch why she lacks energy. Finch explained that working with Empresario was hard and a nasty, harsh environment which wipes out her energy. Trump gently fired Finch, stating that the business world just isn’t her world and telling her not to change. On the ride home, Finch said losing was hard to swallow and she felt she had no chance to show her leadership skills, but she looked forward to getting back to training and being a wife and mom.

What do you think? Should Jennie have gotten fired? Do you agree with Finch about the business world? This blogger is officially tuning out, since my favorite was fired. But maybe, I’ll watch a couple more episodes just to see Omarosa get tossed or Tito Ortiz win the whole thing.  Who do you think will win it all?

  1. i agree that jennie didn’t show any energy and kind of got lost in the action. she just didn’t seem into it which is odd since she’s obviously a great competitior. I like marilu or nely to win!

  2. I can definitely relate to Jennie.. I couldn’t do what some business people do on a daily basis.. It would be nice to see one of the women win… :) Jennie proved that she’s not only a great competitor, but a great person.
