Germany edges USA for top spot in women’s soccer rankings
ZURICH, Dec. 21, 2007 - World champions Germany finished on top of the FIFA Women’s World Ranking for the fifth consecutive year, holding off the United States on the strength of its World Cup title.
The United States finished just 15 points behind the Germans, with Sweden ending up in third and World Cup finalists Brazil a close fourth.
