May 23, 2008 - Tiffany & Co. just announced a two year partnership with none other than women’s tennis champ, Maria Sharapova. The Fifth Avenue jeweler will outfit the top-ranked player in eight different pairs of earrings over the next eight Grand Slam tennis events, including the U.S. Open in New York this summer.
At the first of the eight slams, the French Open at Roland Garros Stadium in Paris, Sharapova will wear a pair of $1,150 yellow gold Elsa Peretti Wave earrings. The Russian athlete said about the sponsorship, “Elsa Peretti’s earrings feel as beautiful as they look and I am thrilled to wear them at the French Open.”
Tiffany has also accessorized Sharapova’s custom French Open tennis dress (shown here). The “Paris dress,” by Nike is a 1920s-inspired ultra-light design that is finished with a luminous Tiffany pearl button closure that fastens at the back of the dress.
We fully support looking great on-and off-court, which is especially easy for the beautiful Sharapova, and look forward to watching her shine at upcoming tournaments.
FYI - the pair of earrings Sharapova wears on court will be available immediately after each event at Tiffany’s stores worldwide. Get ready to crack open those piggy banks.
